Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time - 14th July 2024

Thank you - As I leave the parish this Monday, I would like to thank you all for your prayerful support throughout my time here. I thank all the friars who have been contributing to the life of the parish throughout this period. It has been a time of many blessings for me personally and I hope and pray that the Lord will continue to bless you all as you continue your journeys with Br. Martin Sanderson as your new parish priest. Thank you for your continued prayers. Br. Martin Mikuskiewicz OFM Cap.

Greyfriars Choir - We are very keen to recruit singers to join our choir, which, under the direction of our organist, John Brennan, regularly sings for the celebration of Mass at 11am on Sunday morning. The choir leads the congregation in the regular sung parts of the Mass (Hymns, Psalm, responses etc.) and also sings old and modern 4-part settings of the Ordinary (Kyrie, Gloria etc.) and anthems and motets at suitable parts of the liturgy. A high level of sight-reading is not needed, but the ability to read at a basic level and attend practices regularly to prepare the music repertoire are ideal requirements (there is plenty of help available for members). Recruits to all voices are very welcome, but we are particularly in need of singers for the upper parts: soprano and (particularly) alto. Rehearsal is on Wednesday evenings 7.30–9pm and on Sunday before Mass (10.30am). If you are interested please contact the choir director, John Brennan (jb@positifpress.co.uk).
